Just before the recommencement of training, KAS Eupen made a further announcement, with 29-year-old centre-forward David Pollet transferring from SC Charleroi to KAS Eupen.
On loan to KAS Eupen for one year, David Pollet has a well-established reputation in both France and Belgium, where he is known as a dangerous centre-forward. Born on 12 August 2018 in La Bassée in France, David Pollet played in France for RC Lens in the 1st and 2nd Division. He moved to the top Belgian division in 2013, playing for SC Charleroi, RSC Anderlecht and KAA Gent, from where he returned to SC Charleroi.
In his 157 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, the new signing has scored 35 goals. He belonged to the Belgian League-winning teams, RSC Anderlecht and KAA, in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Though born in France, David Pollet has Belgian nationality, a fact that allowed him to be a member of the Belgian national U18 – U21 squads 21 times.
“We are very pleased to have been able to sign up David Pollet, a fast, technically adept and dangerous centre-forward”, said KAS CEO Christoph Henkel after signing the contract with the 1.91 metre-tall forward. “He’s already got a lot of successes under his belt. One of his strengths is that he can fight back when his team’s a goal down. And his performance on the field and his goal-scoring capabilities are very convincing, making him the ideal recruit for our ambitious team. We look forward to working with David Pollet.”
Welcome to the club, David!
