The U21 team of the KAS Eupen suffered their first defeat of the season on the fourth matchday of the championship. At Waasland-Beveren, coach Angel Cortes’ team lost 2-1. The hosts dominated the first half and took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute. The 2:0 fell in the 40th minute by a converted penalty kick.
For the 2nd half, the KAS Eupen made two substitutions. With a magnificent free-kick into the upper goal corner, Moussa Diallo scored the connecting goal to 2:1. The KAS Eupen was the leading team in the second half of the game, but the Eupeners should no longer score a second goal, especially as a handball in the penalty area of the hosts remained unpunished and the whistle of the referee in this phase failed.
So the KAS Eupen had to admit defeat in the end with 1:2.
