Relief in KAS Eupen’s U21 squad: following a long series of winless games, the team coached by Egide Forthomme was able to celebrate a three-point win in the Reserve 1A Championship. KAS Eupen won the home game against KV Mechelen 1-0.
While KV Mechelen, as usual, took to the field without players from the first team, in Damien Mouchamps, Phakamani Mngadi, Silas Gnaka und Abdoulaye Sanogo, KAS Eupen had four players from the first team squad in the starting lineup this time. Silas Gnaka scored the winning goal. The newcomer from the Ivory Coast scored the only goal of the game from a free kick in the 50th minute.
Next Monday, KAS Eupen’s U21 team will play a match against Waasland-Beveren. The game at the Kehrweg Stadium will kick off at 19:30.
