KAS Eupen has signed French central defender Jordan Lotiès for next season. The 1.90m defensive player is arriving from French first division club Dijon FCO and has signed a two-year contract with KAS Eupen until 30 June 2019. Jordan Lotiès was born in Clermont-Ferrand on 5 August 1984 and played for French second division clubs Clermont Foot and Dijon FCO, as well as for first division club AS Nancy from 2009 to 2013. He made the move to Spain in the summer of 2013 and first played for CA Osasuna in Spanish top division La Liga and then in La Liga 2. He returned to France in the winter of 2016 and, a few months later, celebrated promotion to French top division Ligue 1 with Dijon FCO. Jordan Lotiès has played the entire premier league season 2016-2017 with Dijon FCO and made 27 appearances for the team in the championship and in the cup tournament. He has played 151 matches in the French and Spanish top flight for AS Nancy, CA Osasuna and Dijon FCO. Now he can’t wait to make his premier league debut in Belgium.
KAS CEO Christoph Henkel is pleased with the new arrival from Ligue 1 in France and sees in Jordan Lotiès the much-anticipated reinforcement that will help stabilise Eupen’s defence. “It’s fantastic for KAS Eupen to be able to sign as a central defender Jordan Lotiès, someone who has enjoyed success at the highest level in both France and Spain and who has played over 150 matches there. Jordan provides not only the necessary experience but also, at 1.90m, the physical condition to bolster our defence significantly. We are expecting Jordan to arrive at Eupen this weekend and we look forward to working with him. Welcome, Jordan!”
