KAS Eupen has another crack at earning its first play-off victory

KAS Eupen is playing away to Sint-Truiden VV on Saturday evening. The game on the fifth match day of Play-Off round 2 will kick off at 20:00 at the Stayen Stadium. KAS Eupen fans can still buy their tickets at the box office from 18:30. Café Penalty is offering a public viewing for those fans not travelling to the game.

Claude Makelele: “I want to see an improved performance compared to our last two games”

After four rounds of the play-offs, KAS Eupen is still waiting for its first win and is aiming to improve its record in Sint-Truiden.  “As a coach, you always hope your team will win,” said KAS head coach Claude Makelele in the run-up to the game. “That remains our ambition, even though we can no longer reach our goal for the play-off round. Most of all, I am hoping for a far better performance by my team on Saturday than they have shown in the last two games,” said Claude Makelele.

Sint-Truiden still in the running to qualify for the Europa League

Even Sint-Truiden is no easy opponent for KAS Eupen: the Limburgers are in joint second place with Antwerp in the Play Off 2B table and, just a single point behind leader Lokeren, still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League.

Hendrik Van Crombrugge makes way for his colleagues Niasse and Nurudeen

Due to injuries, Mbaye Leye, Mathieu Peybernes, Lazare Amani and Mickaël Tirpan will not be making the trip to Sint-Truiden. Hendrik Van Crombrugge is not in the squad, so his goalkeeping colleagues Babacar Niasse and Abdul Manaf Nurudeen have the opportunity to play.
