KAS Eupen has signed Marc Valiente from Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. The 30-year-old central defender has been playing in Haifa since 2015. He previously played for 8 years in the 1st and 2nd divisions of the Spanish league for Real Valladolid, FC Sevilla and CF Barcelona under Frank Rijkaard. In total, Marc Valiente has played 248 professional games, including 60 in the Spanish top division, and he has scored one goal. In 2010, he won the Spanish Cup with FC Sevilla. For Maccabi Haifa, he has played 39 games over the last two seasons and has also scored one goal. Marc Valiente has played 6 international matches for Spain’s U21 side and won the European Championship in 2006 with Spain’s U19 national team. He has signed a two-year contract with KAS Eupen until 30 June 2019.
