KAS Eupen wants to play Lokeren

The victory in Sint-Truiden gave KAS Eupen a new motivation boost. Now the team would like to make up ground and score points in the home game against SC Lokeren. The match between KAS Eupen and Sporting Lokeren on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. in Kehrweg Stadium on the 6th day of the play off round. The guests from Lokeren lead the play-off group 2B with 11 points. With its first away win of the season, KAS Eupen has improved to rank 4 with 5 points.

KAS head coach Claude Makelele is likely to nominate a starting formation similar to Lokeren’s most recent 3-2 win in Sint-Truiden. Mbaye Leye, who got injured again in the training session, as well as Mickaël Tirpan, Lazare Amani and Mathieu Peybernes are not available due to their injuries. Babacar Niasse will guard the gate again. “He has the chance to prove himself number one at KAS Eupen when Hendrik Van Crombrugge leaves the club,” coach Makelele said at the press conference. “Babacar will have more time to play and in the coming weeks will take advantage of the valuable tips and advice from Hendrik, who is like a big brother to him.

Playtime is also the ambition of Alessio Castro Montes, who extended his contract with KAS Eupen by two years last week. “I am satisfied with the course of this season and think that I have shown good performances in my substitutions. For the second half of the play-off matches and for the coming season, I naturally hope for more challenges and more playing time,” Alessio Castro Montes told the journalists.
