Home games against the U21 team from 1. FC Köln (Cologne), Olympiacos Piraeus and AFC Tubize
KAS Eupen’s first test match will be held on Wednesday, 27th June at RFCB Sprimont, one week after training resumes. The second match, against Alemannia Aachen, will take place on Saturday, 7th July, upon conclusion of the training camp in Bitburg.
The first appearance in the Kehrweg Stadium is scheduled for Tuesday, 10th July, when KAS Eupen will be tested by the U21 team from 1. FC Köln (Cologne).
On Sunday, 15th July, fans from the region will be able to get into the mood for the World Cup Final in Moscow with an international encounter between KAS Eupen and Olympiacos Piraeus. Kick-off in the Kehrweg Stadium will be at 12:00 pm due to the World Cup Final. The 44-time Greek champions include Belgian goalkeeper Sylvio Proto and centre-back Björn Engels, who transferred to Piraeus from Bruges last summer. Former AS player Guillaume Gillet, however, has terminated his contract with the Greeks and no longer belongs to the club, which rounds off its summer training camp in Genk.
Claude Makelele will give KAS Eupen a final fine-tuning on Saturday, 21st July. KAS Eupen takes on Division 1B club AFC Tubize in the Kehrweg Stadium on Belgian National Day.
Christoph Henkel: “Attractive preparation programme”
With two opponents from the region, namely Sprimont and Alemannia Aachen, the ambitious junior players from 1. FC Köln (Cologne), AFC Tubize from the D1B and an international partner like Olympiacos Piraeus, we have been able to put together a very varied, demanding and attractive preparation programme for our team,” says KAS Managing Director Christoph Henkel. “These friendly matches will give our team the opportunity to prepare well for the championship on the last weekend of July. The fans can experience the matches against the U21 team from 1. FC Köln (Cologne), Olympiacos Piraeus and Tubize in their own stadium and don’t need to travel far to attend the games in Sprimont and against Alemannia Aachen in Bitburg, so probably everyone will get their money’s worth.”
