Czech central defender Jan Král joins KAS Eupen
KAS Eupen has signed Czech central defender Jan Král. The 23-year-old player is 1.94 metres and joins KAS Eupen from Czech first division club FC Hradec Králové. In Eupen he signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2025. Jan Král was an international player of his country from the U16 to the U21 level and played almost all championship games in the Fortuna Liga (1st division) and in the champions round over the full distance with Hradec Králové last season.
Jan Král received his formation at the Czech first division club FC Mladá Boleslav and was loaned to the second division club FC Varnsdorf at the age of 18. He made his professional football debut with FC Varnsdorf on 30 July 2017. In the 2018-2019 season, he played 7 matches with FC Mladá Boleslav in the Fortuna Liga (1st division) and four matches in the 2nd Bundesliga via the loan to Erzgebirge Aue. In January 2020, the transfer to the second division club FC Hradec Králové came about. Here, Jan Král immediately conquered a regular place and achieved promotion to the 1st division with his team in the spring of 2021. The newcomer from KAS Eupen played a total of 32 games in the 2021-2022 season in the Fortuna Liga and in the champions round, scoring 4 goals.
