Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso joins KAS Eupen
The 70-time Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso will play for KAS Eupen until the end of this season. The 32-year-old midfielder will be loaned to KAS Eupen by Chinese first division club Shenzhen FC.
Mubarak Wakaso first played as a professional in his home country and moved from the Premier League in Ghana to Spanish second division club FC Elche in 2008. He moved via the Villareal FC B team to the Villareal FC first team in 2011 and therewith to the highest division in Spain.
With Villareal, Espanyol Barcelona, UD Las Palmas, FC Granada and Deportivo Alavés, the KAS Eupen newcomer has played 140 games in LaLiga 1 and 63 matches in LaLiga 2. He was Scottish champion and cup winner with Celtic Glasgow in 2015. In early 2020, Mubarak Wakaso moved to China, where he also won the national championship with Jiangsu Suning.
Mubarak Wakaso has played 70 international matches for Ghana so far, including the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He has scored 13 goals in the national team shirt.
