KAS Eupen extend contract with Amadou Keita until 2023
KAS Eupen has extended the contract with Guinean midfielder Amadou Keita by one year until 30 June 2023. The Guinean-born player lives in Eupen and plays for KAS Eupen since four years. At the international youth tournament in Kobe, Japan, Amadou Keita was named the best player of the tournament in 2019 as a player in the KAS Eupen youth team.
From being a regular in the U21 team, he made the step up to the club’s professional squad in 2021. He was called up to KAS Eupen’s 18-man squad six times in the 2021-22 season and played the full distance in the home match against Cercle Bruges.
Christoph Henkel, general director of KAS Eupen: ” Amadou Keita is one more player who has made the leap from our youth department via the U21s into the professional squad of KAS Eupen. He is technically skilled and extremely fast. Due to injuries, he did not make the hoped-for appearances in the 1st team last season. However, we are convinced of Amadou Keita’s potential and want to give him the chance to develop further at KAS Eupen and to embark on a successful career as a professional footballer. We are looking forward to further cooperation with Amadou Keita.”
