KAS Eupen launches realignment

After eight years in the Jupiler Pro League, AS was unfortunately relegated to the 2nd division. The relegation of the professional team will lead to a significant reduction in revenue, particularly in terms of TV income, sponsorship and maybe matchday income.

The Aspire Zone Foundation has owned KAS Eupen for twelve years now, making it one of the longest committed owners in current Belgian professional soccer. Aspire Zone Foundation has never been driven by financial profit, which is unusual enough in professional soccer, and has invested significant sums in the work of the club over the years, not only in the professional team but also in youth development, the further development of the infrastructure and organizational structure, the establishment of a women’s team, the implementation of a large number of social projects, sustainability projects and so on. Aspire Zone Foundation still plans to support KAS Eupen with a significant amount this season. The club must be adjusted to a budget that is appropriate for the 2nd division, which includes clear economic decisions to ensure a successful realignment.

KAS Eupen will use its existing resources to reorganize the club based on talent development. Based on the excellent youth work in recent years, the current AS squad already includes a number of promising home-grown players. AS has created a good basis for such a realignment, which is essential for the future of the club.

The sporting goal as well as squad and staff planning will be carried out based on this realignment.
