KAS Eupen sign English midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies
KAS Eupen has signed English midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies. The 24-year-old player joins KAS Eupen from second division club FC Barnsley and has signed a two-year contract until 30 June 2024.
Isaac Christie-Davies was trained in Chelsea FC’s youth department and played for the London club’s U18s and U23s before moving to Liverpool FC in 2018.
He made his professional debut under Jürgen Klopp in a match against Aston Villa. In early 2020, he was loaned to Cercle Brugge, coached by new Eupen coach Bernd Storck, but did not appear due to injury. In September 2020, he moved to second-division club FC Barnsley.
In the first half of 2021, the newcomer of KAS Eupen was loaned to the Slovakian first division club DAC Dunajska Streda, which was coached by Bernd Storck at that time. At DAC Dunajska Streda he played 10 matches in the Fortuna Liga (highest division) until the season finale.
The new KAS Eupen midfielder has played 4 international matches with the Wales U21s. In total, Isaac Christie-Davies has featured in 59 matches for Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC U23s and 3 matches for Barnsley and Liverpool first teams.
Christoph Henkel, General Director of KAS Eupen: “We are very happy to sign Isaac Christie-Davies. Isaac has a very good technique and is extremely competitive, fast and strong in the game. This makes him a perfect choice for our new coach Bernd Storck. At the age of 24, he certainly still has development potential and is in line with KAS Eupen’s concept to develop talents. We are convinced that KAS Eupen and the Jupiler Pro League are a good environment for Isaac Christie-Davies to take the next step in his career. We look forward to working with him.”
